Dystopia was my introduction to Talisk when the live version of it was out on youtube. Between the energy and life not just by the music itself, but the people playing it being so engrained into the songs themselves, Talisk has become a foot-stomper, and an absolute jam of a band to put on full volume. ladyoforion
I disagree with Bandcamp's policy of soliciting only positive reviews - "Why do you love this album?" Actually, I don't! I find that the relentlessly upbeat instrumentals (no vocals) become rather wearing after a few tracks. It might work well in concert, but this is not an album I will return to often or ever play all the way through in one sitting. dcbw

This album speaks to the continuum of African diasporic culture that is central to the vibrant canon of Americana folk music. Bandcamp Album of the Day May 29, 2020
I have a lot of music in this style from new and emerging "Celtic" (I use that term broadly) artists, and it's just wonderful music. I just smile and tap my feet, and I want more of it. This is Ruras second album that I now own, and all I can say is I want more! Joseph Karl
